Girlguiding Great Barr is appealing for more adult volunteers to help keep local Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers units running.

A number of units need extra support. Without more volunteers, some may have to close, meaning girls could miss out on the friendships, fun and opportunities that guiding brings.

I met some of my best friends through guiding, and I enjoy volunteering now just as much as I enjoyed being a member. Guiding has given me so much, and I'd love for more girls in Great Barr to have the same opportunities and experiences. Our current volunteers care deeply about the girls and give so much of their time, but they're stretched. We need some extra support so our units can keep running and girls can continue to enjoy everything guiding has to offer.

Gemma Welch, a local volunteer, made this statement.

Previous guiding experience is not required to get involved. There are different ways to help, from joining a unit team to supporting activities and sharing your skills. Those interested but unsure what volunteering might involve are encouraged to get in touch for an informal conversation.
