A man has been given a conditional caution by West Midlands Police following assaults on protesters at the Reform UK party conference held at the NEC in Birmingham on 4 September.
Footage showed protesters being manhandled by audience members as they were removed from the event. One woman had her hair pulled and was hit with a walking stick.
The man accepted the conditional caution after being voluntarily interviewed. West Midlands Police said two other men had also been voluntarily interviewed as part of the investigation into assaults on five people in total.
What is a conditional caution?
A conditional caution is more severe than a standard caution. Accepting one amounts to an admission of guilt. People who agree to conditional cautions can be subject to certain terms, which can include a fine, reparations to the victim or rehabilitation.
The conference disruption
Activists disrupted Reform leader Nigel Farage's speech at the NEC four times before they were removed by security.
Police appeal for witnesses
West Midlands Police is asking alleged victims and anyone with information about the assaults to come forward as inquiries continue.
